6 player Catan

So on Tuesday night our usual gaming crew came over for homemade pizzas and Catan.  We decided to get crazy and go for the 6 player Cities & Knights version.  The game seriously took over 3 hours!  EEK!  And of course Sara won, what the heck is up with her winning every time we play :)  It was really sad because you play to 13 victory points and in the end I only had 4, haha!IMG_1296 IMG_1297

Happy Birthday Luke!

Today is Luke’s 25th birthday, which he likes to say marks the end of a 1/3 of his life (statistically). It’s also his 4th birthday since we’ve been married, which is pretty crazy to think about.

Anyway, I just wanted to post about how awesome he is and how much I love him and am thankful for him :) Even if he does kill me in Catan every time we play.

Happy Birthday Husband!!

And Happy Birthday Uncle Robert! And Happy Anniversary Jason & Kendra! And Happy Anniversary Israel & Sarah! As you can see Aug. 19 is pretty popular in my family :)

iPhone Case

I recently inherited an iPhone from Lunsy, and I wanted to make sure it remains in good condition, so I found an online tutorial on how to make a case from Sewing Mamas.

Her tutorial (you have to download it) doesn’t give exact measurements, so I made one that was way too big at first. Here’s a picture of the final product. I added a button flap to keep the iPhone from sliding out.I did come across a problem working with the vinyl sheet. It bent a lot when turning the case right side out after sewing. If anyone knows of a good vinyl substitute, I would appreciate it!

Money Saving Mom

Ok so I’m going to try and post my money saving secrets to you guys when I come across them.  The hot one right now comes from Kraft, buy $25 in participating items and get $5 in catalinas good for next purchase and $20 rebate check.  So essentially you get $25 in free groceries.kraft picToday I headed to Farm Fresh to take advantage of this deal.  Here’s a pic of what I got which actually made me $4.84 after using $6 in coupons and getting the $5 catalina and $20 rebate form.  So pretty sweet deal if you ask me.  IMG_1255I also went to Target to take advantage of a free $5 gift card when you buy 2 Gillette Razors or Cartridges:

Here’s my scenario:
Buy (1) Venus Embrace - $7.94
Buy (1) Gillette Fusion Razors - $7.99
Use $2/1 Embrace or Breeze in 8/16 Red Plum insert or 8/2 P&G insert
Use $2/1 Fusion in 8/16 Red Plum insert
Use Buy 1 Fusion Razor, get Gillette Shampoo FREE in 8/2 P&G insert
Use Buy 1 Venus Embrace Razor, get Satin Care FREE in 8/2 P&G insert
Final Price = $1.73 for each item after coupons and gift card.IMG_1259 Another pretty sweet deal since I was in desperate need of a new razor.

Overall Dallas Trip

Ok so you might be wondering what all we did in Dallas especially if I was there for 10 days and the shower was only half a Saturday. Well I flew in Thurs. July 30 and got there just in time to go to bed. Friday, Patti & I headed to water aerobics :) It was a pretty good work out, not too hard for baby. After that we made the fruit creation for the baby shower and headed to Papasitos to meet all my family that came into town for the shower.

Saturday morning we had the shower, then I headed to Sachse with my family to spend the night at Kendra & Jason's house. And of course, what's an Edgar family event without a morning spent trying to solve the world's problems?
Monday, Patti & I had water aerobics again then we headed to the stores :) The baby boy selection isn't as abundant as the baby girl's but they still seemed to have some deals we couldn't pass up! Tuesday we stayed home and organized the room I was staying in. Wednesday, we had aerobics and did some more shopping. Thursday, we went grocery shopping, then my mom & aunt picked me up for dinner at none other than Cheddars :) And that night Luke flew in town! Friday, Luke and I organized the office and that night we had a get together with old friends while grilling some meat kabobs (which were very tasty). Saturday, we went out on the boat to water ski and wakeboard (I just watched until it was time to swim), but Luke wasn't feeling great so we headed in early.
That night we ate at Chuys (one of our Austin Mexican restaurants that made it to Arlington) and bowled with friends.
Then Sunday we headed over to Luke's grandparents house for a birthday lunch.
And Sunday night we ate at Anamia's and took a walk in the park. Here's Luke and Jacob having a heart to heart.
There were a ton of ducks all over the pond area of the park. Here's a mommy duck following her babies around as they nibbled on the grass. It was so cute, they were just like people (except for the eating grass part) but the way the mom just watch her kids to make sure they were safe. It was really precious! Then we woke up early Monday morning to fly back to Virginia. We checked 2 bags of purely baby stuff and barely caught the 8:40 flight :) But we got back safe and sound. It was a really nice trip and we had a lot of fun!

Baby Shower #1

As some of you know, I headed back to Texas for the first 10 days of Aug. That made it my 5th time back in the year we've been here, not bad. Anyway, Luke's mom, aunt, grandma & church friend threw me a baby shower the first weekend of my visit.

Here's the food spread (see the fancy fruit decoration? Thanks for the idea Rache!)
Here's some of the gifts. Everyone really blessed us with their generosity and we truly appreciated it!!Can anyone believe that Luke's son will have feet this little??Of course they're trying to brainwash baby into being an Aggie already :)I love this one!My sissy & me!
It was definitely orange day at the shower :) Here's the Ambroses, some old friends from back when we lived in DFW.
And here's our old Southlake buddies the Quinns!
Lala, Sherra & SarahMe & baby Greenlee (Sarah's new little one, and soon to be friend of baby boy!)
It was a really nice shower. I had a lot of fun! We had a great turn out (40 people or so). I really appreciate all the hard work the hostesses did to pull it off. Thanks! :)

Crafting Again

Because I'm prego and all, I thought I'd learn how to make some baby crafts :)
But because I'm still a girl, I had to make a purse too (pattern found here)
And once again, these were all gifts.
