This year LaLa’s birthday was a golden one…24 on the 24th and it just happened to be Oscar Night! What could be more fun than to celebrate with a Red Carpet Oscar Party?!?
We decided to have themed foods for some of the Best Picture nominees:
- Django Unchained and Beasts of the Southern Wild – Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Poppers
- Les Miserable – Spinach Quiche
- Silver Linings Playbook – Philly Cheese Steak Sliders
- Zero Dark Thirty – Dark Chocolate Oreo Truffles
- Lincoln – Funfetti Cupcakes
And of course we had popcorn b/c The Oscars are all about the movies…and it’s my favorite snack :)
The Birthday Girl!
The party décor….we played Red Carpet Bingo and filled out an Oscar Ballot before the awards began.

Photo Booths are all the craze these days, so of course we had a Vanity Fair after party photo booth!
What would make a birthday even more special? Winning the Oscar Ballot! 15 out of 24, not bad…of course Poppy only missed 7 but who’s counting?
As you can see the Birthday Girl had some wardrobe changes:
And Lucy Kate was probably the hit of the party (while she was awake that is!)…next to Ben and Jen of course :)
The party was awesomely fun; I say we make it a tradition!

Quite informative post one this golden birthday party. I am in search of exemplary event space Chicago for arranging my dad’s retirement party. Got to know about some lovely venues from the internet and looking forward to book the right venue in time.
