Valentine’s Day

This year we decided not to make a big deal out of Valentine’s Day b/c we’ve been doing so many projects around the house lately.  That’s what we decided, but if you know Luke, that’s not what happened.

I had a doctor’s appointment that morning and as I was heading out the door with Calvin, Luke asked if I really wanted to go to the doctor.  Of course that confused me, but then he said he rescheduled my appointment for the next day, and we were going on a family day trip an hour and a half away. 

Once I saw we were heading south, I knew it was something around San Antonio.  And once Luke said it was somewhere both Calvin and I would love, I knew it was to the Wildlife Ranch and Natural Bridge Caverns!

As you may have noticed, we have been super bad about taking monthly preggo pics of me, but I’m 7 months here and you can see baby girl in some of the pics.

Calvin loved sporting his “gwasses” and Valentine’s monster shirt.

Over at the Wildlife Ranch, Calvin loved chasing these birds around.

But the birds didn’t like being chased and that upset little man.

Then we had to check out the llamas of course :)

Here are some videos from our safari drive, where Calvin got to feed the animals as they came up to our car.  It was super fun, and he especially loved the ostriches ;)

Jump Street

A couple of weekends ago, the Smiths came to hang out in Austin with us.  On Saturday we headed to Jump Street to work off all the boys’ energy (dads included!)

Grayson and Calvin had such a fun time playing together the whole weekend.  Now when I ask who his best friend is, Calvin answers “Gwayson”.  We even got Brad & Haley to play Ticket to Ride, so I would say the weekend was successful :)

Calvin’s Cars Party

To celebrate Calvin turning 2 we turned our house into Radiator Springs and had a Cars party!  I got a lot of the ideas from pinterest including this site and this site.

Here is the invitation.  It was a combined effort of both Luke and me using photoshop and an idea we saw on etsy.

I used my Silhouette to make most of the decorations, but some of them were just created in photoshop using images I found on Google.

Of course Little Man didn’t want to smile for us, but here he is sporting his birthday t-shirt.

I made a “Happy 2nd Birthday Calvin!” banner with chronological month to month pictures from birth to 2.

Sarge’s Surplus of Sweets was our dessert station.

I found a tutorial for a Mater Cake, and I must say it turned out super cute!

Flo’s V8 Café had all the other snacks.

Ramone’s House of Body Art was the coloring station.

Then we had our “rest stop” aka bathroom.

Our party favors were little bags of “Car Parts” or trail mix.

Opening all the fun cars presents!  This little boy sure was spoiled :)

Playing around outside…the weather was really nice, “not too hot, not too cold, all you need is a light jacket” (movie anyone?)
