In May we tried to go to a Tides game, but it was rained out :( so last night we tried it again and were successful at it!
Kyle & Sara were with us too, but we forgot to take group shots…of course. Oh and they lost 2-6…we didn’t care though, I was just into the hot dog/pretzel eating and socializing :)

FYI: You can use both a manufacturer’s coupon and target coupon at Target, which can make for some pretty sweet deals.
Money Saving Again
So I think I’m officially obsessed with playing the money saving game. Target has their Johnson’s and Aveeno Baby products on sale this week from $2.99 - $3.50. I bought 8 Johnson’s and 4 Aveeno products yesterday spending a total of $13 for all of it due to coupons (1 manufacturer and 1 target coupon for each product ranging from $1 to $2 off). So we’re probably set for all bath times of every kid we want :) It’s such a good deal though, I’m thinking of going again and getting more for baby shower gifts. And here’s all the stuff they paid me $0.70 to take from the store!
And once again they have a $5 giftcard opportunity when you purchase 5 Quaker items at $2.74/each. I bought 5 of the True Delights Granola bars b/c Luke likes to take them when he’s driving around for work. I used 5 $1 coupons from the 8/23 RP insert and here, and the $5 giftcard I got last week from the shaving products, making the total cost for each box $0.74. Not bad for a fancy box of granolas :)

Free Chick-Fil-A
Register HERE for the chicken wave and the first 250,000 people will get a coupon for a free sandwich. The next 750,000 people will get a coupon for a free Coke Zero at Chick-Fil-A. You will also be entered into a drawing for a $50 gift card! I entered both Luke and I and our coupons are in the mail….gotta love it.
Also if you go to Chick-Fil-A on Labor Day and wear something with a sports team logo on it, and you get a free chicken sandwich!

Let’s party like Luke’s 25!
Last night we had a happening party to celebrate Luke’s 1/4 of a century. We started with playing wii and then broke into 3 different board games: Catan Geographies, Ticket to Ride and Puerto Rico.
Here’s some of the boys playing Puerto Rico. And here’s my Black Tie Mousse Cake experiment from a copycat recipe of Olive Garden’s most awesome dessert. It tasted good, but wasn’t close enough to the real cake for my liking…I guess I’ll keep shopping for recipes.
Happy Birthday Luke!
Even James drove in from Charlottesville to help us celebrate! It was my “surprise” gift for Luke :)
So it may look like there weren’t any girls at this party, but I always forget to take pictures until everything’s over…so yes, I wasn’t the only female in the joint :)
It was a fun party and I look forward to trying Puerto Rico out!

New Catan Game!
My parents sent Luke a new board game for his birthday! Catan Geographies: Germany….oooo ahhh. It came in the mail yesterday and we just had to play it, so we spontaneously called the Erwins to see if they were up for it. It’s so great to have friends that you can call at the last minute :) <—that’s for Drew & Luke.
This version of Catan is similar to the regular version, except it chooses where your starting points are, and since I must be terrible at that part (which is why I lose every time) it gives people like me a better chance. We played to 10 VPs (victory points for you uncool people) and I finished with 8 the first game and 7 the 2nd. Much better than only getting 4 VPs when you have to get 13 to win! Drew, Rache and I decided to let Luke win both games as a birthday present :)
Luke also got Starship Catan, a 2 player card game, that we’re looking forward to trying out! Thanks Lunsy & Trix! Who else thinks Drew looks like a creeper??

Baby Room Update
My mom was bugging me about posting the updates to the baby room after getting all the stuff from the shower in order. So here it goes.
This is our SUPER cute bedding that I found at Target. I registered for it before we knew it was a boy b/c I just loved it! I mean are you kidding me on it’s cuteness???Here’s a couple of extra blankets and some stuffed animals. That is the sock monkey that Luke had in the old days. (And I made the ball from this website)
Here is baby’s closet. We got a good collection of clothes to start with. My vision for the bins is to just toss onesies, socks, hats & shoes in, which is what they contain right now.
The next few pics are of drawers full of stuff that will probably move someday :)
Here’s extra blankets & sheets. Here’s books & toys.
Here’s feeding and changing odds and ends.
Here’s burp cloths, bibs, towels and more blankets
Here’s all the stuff that’s hiding under the crib for now.
And here’s the start of our diaper stash that Luke and I bought when I was being Money Saving Mom a few weeks ago :)
Well there you have it. We’re off to a good start I think!
6 player Catan
So on Tuesday night our usual gaming crew came over for homemade pizzas and Catan. We decided to get crazy and go for the 6 player Cities & Knights version. The game seriously took over 3 hours! EEK! And of course Sara won, what the heck is up with her winning every time we play :) It was really sad because you play to 13 victory points and in the end I only had 4, haha!

Happy Birthday Luke!
Today is Luke’s 25th birthday, which he likes to say marks the end of a 1/3 of his life (statistically). It’s also his 4th birthday since we’ve been married, which is pretty crazy to think about.
Anyway, I just wanted to post about how awesome he is and how much I love him and am thankful for him :) Even if he does kill me in Catan every time we play.
Happy Birthday Husband!!
And Happy Birthday Uncle Robert! And Happy Anniversary Jason & Kendra! And Happy Anniversary Israel & Sarah! As you can see Aug. 19 is pretty popular in my family :)

iPhone Case
Her tutorial (you have to download it) doesn’t give exact measurements, so I made one that was way too big at first. Here’s a picture of the final product. I added a button flap to keep the iPhone from sliding out.
I did come across a problem working with the vinyl sheet. It bent a lot when turning the case right side out after sewing. If anyone knows of a good vinyl substitute, I would appreciate it!

Money Saving Mom
Ok so I’m going to try and post my money saving secrets to you guys when I come across them. The hot one right now comes from Kraft, buy $25 in participating items and get $5 in catalinas good for next purchase and $20 rebate check. So essentially you get $25 in free groceries.Today I headed to Farm Fresh to take advantage of this deal. Here’s a pic of what I got which actually made me $4.84 after using $6 in coupons and getting the $5 catalina and $20 rebate form. So pretty sweet deal if you ask me.
I also went to Target to take advantage of a free $5 gift card when you buy 2 Gillette Razors or Cartridges:
Here’s my scenario:
Buy (1) Venus Embrace - $7.94
Buy (1) Gillette Fusion Razors - $7.99
Use $2/1 Embrace or Breeze in 8/16 Red Plum insert or 8/2 P&G insert
Use $2/1 Fusion in 8/16 Red Plum insert
Use Buy 1 Fusion Razor, get Gillette Shampoo FREE in 8/2 P&G insert
Use Buy 1 Venus Embrace Razor, get Satin Care FREE in 8/2 P&G insert
Final Price = $1.73 for each item after coupons and gift card. Another pretty sweet deal since I was in desperate need of a new razor.

Overall Dallas Trip
Saturday morning we had the shower, then I headed to Sachse with my family to spend the night at Kendra & Jason's house. And of course, what's an Edgar family event without a morning spent trying to solve the world's problems?

Baby Shower #1
Here's the food spread (see the fancy fruit decoration? Thanks for the idea Rache!)
It was definitely orange day at the shower :) Here's the Ambroses, some old friends from back when we lived in DFW.
Me & baby Greenlee (Sarah's new little one, and soon to be friend of baby boy!)Crafting Again

But because I'm still a girl, I had to make a purse too (pattern found here)
And once again, these were all gifts.
