This year for Calvin’s 3rd birthday we celebrated with a Thomas the Tank Engine Party! Once again I got a lot of ideas from pinterest, I love that site!
Here is the invitation. I got the idea from something I saw on Etsy.
The party started outside as our little train conductors made their way to the Island of Sodor on the Hargrove Railroad.
Here’s an iPhone panoramic pic of the track throughout the house and our little trains that Luke made out of cardboard boxes and paint cans. What a creative guy!
The food spread. I made a “train” of snack food for the kids to enjoy, including Calvin’s favorite: Popcorn!
We made little “train” pb&j sandwiches and Poppy suggested we use the crusts as “tracks”…great idea!
Thomas had the very important job of pulling the cupcakes!
While we waited for everyone to arrive, the kids colored Thomas Coloring Pages.
Then we raced our tank engines around the house.
Luke raked all the leaves in the backyard into one big pile and the kids had a blast jumping into it! It was probably the highlight of the party :)
And we recently put up 2 swings in our tree that got a lot of use during the party.
We played multiple games of Red Light/Green Light with the trains.
Oops..derailed!
And more leaves..
After we had enough fun outside, we headed back to Big Station to play Thomas Bingo.
Calvin sang Happy Birthday to himself :) But of course he said, “Happy Birthday to you” and not “to me”.
And of course little man was super excited to finally get to open all the presents.
Lucy Kate with her bestie Harper. LK wasn’t feeling well during the party, so we didn’t get any cute pics of her.
Calvin wanted Callie to know how thankful he was for her gift :)
And he finally got to open the one thing he’d been asking for for the past few months…Shu Todoroki! The race car from Japan in Cars 2. Oh boy was he excited!
It was a really fun party and we were glad to share Calvin’s special day with our friends and family!
