Daddy Time

Calvin hung out with Daddy while he read The 90-Minute Baby Sleep Program by Polly Moore.  My friend Mary Frances gave the book to us, and it seems to have good points on having a happier and well rested baby.  Basically a baby has an internal clock that tells them they need a nap after being awake for 90 minutes.  Then they sleep for however long, 30 minutes, 45 minutes, 2 hours, whatever they need.  After they wake up you play with them/feed them/change them then after 90 minutes, they’re ready for another nap, no matter how long they slept the last time.

We started this experiment on Monday afternoon and he already seems happier.  And it’s true about the 90 minute cycle because he took a 2 1/2 hour nap this morning and needed another one 90 minutes after he woke up.  And supposedly all this day napping will help him sleep longer/through the night (we haven’t seen results of that yet!)  So we’ll see how this experiment works.  It’s nice to have him on somewhat of a “schedule” now too.  Daddy Time 10 Daddy Time 12 Daddy Time 21 Daddy Time 22 Daddy Time 27
