Yorktown Beach
Calvin & I met Jessie & James over at the Yorktown Beach to take advantage of these temperatures in the 70s.
He loved rolling around in the sand…needlesstosay we had a lot of brushing off before getting in the car :) And check out his “Beach Bums” shirt from Grandma, totally appropriate for today’s activity!
Here are the friends!
This is what you get when you have to take a picture of 2 adults and 2 babies in strollers yourself..
We got to see some cool boats there too.
And this is what you get when you had 2 hours of fun in the sun (and sand!)…
We didn’t even get in the water b/c it was freezing, but we had fun playing in the (and eating….Calvin, not me) sand!

Nacho Man
Anyone who knows me even remotely well knows that my favorite snack by far is chips and salsa.
Well, as the cliché goes, like father, like son. I’d been snacking a little bit while working today and left my desk for just a minute, only to come back to find this.
Not only is he grabbing the chips, but he’s dipping them in salsa that I made extra spicy with some of that gallon of Habanero Tabasco Sauce that I recently bought.
I’ll definitely miss stuff like this when I stop working from home…

5 Years!
To celebrate our 5th anniversary, we took a little trip down to the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
This area is probably most famous for being the site where Orville and Wilbur first flew. In this spirt, we started the weekend off with a bit of kite flying:
The kite festival was also going on as you can see:
We also paid our respects to the Wright Brothers by visiting the Wright Brothers National Memorial.
Little known fact: I share a birthday with Orville Wright (as well as Bill Clinton and Gene Rodenberry).
With aviation all around us, we decided to take to the skies ourselves. For $99, you can strap yourself into a wing and run off the side of sand dune as well.
We documented our flights a little better than those brothers. All they can up with was one grainy black & white photograph:
And so, for your viewing pleasure, here are the first 5 unpowered flights of our family: (I accidentally deleted Stephers’ 4th)

Memorial Day
We went to TX to house hunt last week and spent Memorial Day at my parent’s community pool in the Hallows. It was a nice day of swimming and eventual hotdog eating…they only had one grill working
And the house hunt was a success, we found one we really liked in Leander. We’ll close on July 1 and move down sometime after that!
