Total of Transaction 2 after sales, coupons, $15 Catalina from T1, tax & “green bags” –> $11.82, and the $15 didn’t print out, so I went to Customer Service and they  just credited my card the $15 which is way better than having Farm Fresh money!

TARGET DEALS…
Right now at Target, all the Halloween candy is 75% off, making everything SUPER cheap!  If you think you need more candy, then head over for this great deal (it might even go cheaper the longer you wait).  I know I said we only had 3 trick-or-treaters and a ton of left over candy, but it was all chocolate stuff and Luke really likes the fruity kinds (so I got him a present!).  I thought I could use these chocolates for cookie baking since Thanksgiving/Christmas is coming up fast!IMG_1985 Here’s a run down on the deals I got:

  • Sour Patch/Swedish Fish - $6.99 –> $1.74
  • Hot Tamales/Mike & Ike - $6.99 –> $1.74
  • Starburst/Skittles - $6.99/ea –> $1.74 x 2 = $3.48
  • Hershey’s Kisses - $6.99/ea –> $1.74 x 2 = $3.48
  • Reese’s - $4.79/ea –> $1.19 x 2 = $2.38
  • M&M’s - $2.99/ea –> $0.74 x 8 = $5.92

Original total = $75.44
Total after coupons & sale = $14.74!
Wow, now that’s a STEAL…That’s a savings of $60.70 or 80%!!  I also noticed that I missed a Starburst/Skittles coupon where I could’ve saved $2 more.  So make sure you stock up on your Target Qs before heading over for your deals!

Hot Chocolate Recipe

I don’t know if any of you enjoy some Starbucks Hot Chocolate during the cold days, well I decided to look for a copycat recipe since I’m a Money Saving Mom and all, and I think this one’s pretty good :)starbucks-02 Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tbsp cocoa
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • whipped cream (optional)
  • chocolate shavings (optional)

Directions:

  • Mix water, cocoa, and sugar in a glass measuring cup.  Stir well.
  • Microwave on high for 1-2 minutes to make chocolate syrup, watch closely so chocolate doesn’t overflow.
  • Stir in milk and vanilla and microwave until warm.
  • Top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.

Enjoy!

Halloween

My dad posted on Facebook that they had 179 trick-or-treaters this year….well we had a whopping 3 kids, and they’re our next door neighbors.  Looks like we’ll have a lot of candy to snack on for a while!

After we figured the trick-or-treaters were done, we headed over to Drew & Rachel’s house to hang out with them and their Austin buddies for the UT game (and some Ticket to Ride action).IMG_1969 IMG_1970 Our pumpkins are kissing in this one ;) oooo ahhhIMG_1971Luke and I decided to “do something fun and go to Taco Bell” (movie anyone) for some free Halloween tacos…gotta love the free food.
