Crafties

We had another baby shower at the church a couple of weeks ago, so I made these burp cloths and bibs (it was for twins).  For the burp cloths, I just sewed some of the matching bib fabric to a 3-fold cloth diaper, SUPER easy (and cute!). And here are some onesies I made (well, appliquéd)…the airplane and car went to the twins, but the tie and elephant are for our little guy :)  Gotta keep him in style!And my madre’s birthday was last Saturday, so I decided to make her a Coupon Organizer and Store Card Holder.  I thought it was appropriate b/c I’m obsessed with couponing and I’m trying to get everyone else involved too :)  You could use the coupon organizer for receipts or recipes (anything small that you’re filling) and the store card holder as a smaller wallet or business card holder (which is actually what it’s called).  And I thought this idea was too cute, so I made 2 more for other friends (I forgot to take a pic of Rache’s, but here’s the one for Liz).

Flag Football

On Sunday some of the peeps from church put together a little game of flag football… This was the best “action shot” I got of Luke :) I offered to be one of the team’s quarterback, but they didn’t seem to go for that!

William & Mary Football

Last night we went to a William & Mary football game against Central Connecticut State (ever heard of it??? me either).  Luke said it best when he compared it to going to a high school game…and more like a 3A game too.

Here’s a pic of the W&M student section...and it starts at the striped cover then to the right (we were sitting in the endzone). Which differs greatly from A&M’s student section (in this pic it’s the right side). So it was fun for us to compare all the differences between W&M and A&M.  We were trying to figure out what their traditions were…didn’t really come up with anything except a tomahawk like throw they did with their arms (only like 2 times too). It was cute at halftime…they let the peewee football league have a mini game. And here are their little cheerleaders. After W&M would score a touch down, some colonial guys shot off their guns.  We thought it was ironic that they did this with W&M being “The Tribe” and all.. Here’s a pic of our group in all our team spirit! And here’s the final score…we won!! A nice change from always losing at A&M games :)  Gotta love the Aggies!

Elliotts Come for a Visit!

So our Austin friends (Joe, Mona, Faith & Aliza) came for a Labor Day visit to Williamsburg! They got in Sunday evening and it was a party every moment until they left :)

As you may remember, on Monday Chick-Fil-A was giving away free chicken sandwiches to anyone who came dressed in “team spirit” so of course we took advantage of that for lunch….and dinner (which ended up being lunch the next day, ha!) After grabbing our Chick-Fil-A we headed to Colonial Williamsburg. Then Yorktown. I think I look pretty preggo in this pic (you can see my belly button through my shirt….and I’m wearing 2!) Monday evening we headed to Waller Mill with our canoe and rented another so we could all canoe together. Joe wanted this trip to be one of “firsts” for the family, so this was their first time canoeing. You can see the Joe/Mona/Aliza canoe in the background of this pic (which is why Luke seems to be laughing so hard).Somehow I saw this itty bitty baby turtle in the water so we picked it up with a paddle…too cute!Well we were having a really great time, then it started raining on us…doesn’t look like I’m too happy in this pic :) Tuesday morning we headed to Virginia Beach and ate at Mary’s Restaurant (one of our local favorites). Then we headed to the Virginia Aquarium and saw an I-Max (which was a first for our Austin friends, Aliza did get scared at some of the fish eating parts :) ).Then we got to “try” and pet the sting rays…you can see Faith got a little wet trying this :) After the Aquarium, we headed to the beach, where it was cold and rainy, not a good day to go swimming. But Aliza seemed to have fun! And we rode back on the Surry Ferry, which the girls thought was awesome. Tuesday night, our friend Jeni came and babysat while the adults had a night on the town. We ate at Captain George’s Seafood Buffet. As most of you know, I’m allergic to seafood, and didn’t think it was a good time to experiment my allergicness being pregnant and all, so I got most of my money out of the desserts :)Wednesday we toured around Jamestown Settlement, where Aliza was mad that she didn’t see any Indians…their best Indian was a white lady wearing animal skins…not very Pocahontas looking to us. And that afternoon we went to Jamestown Beach to swim and canoe. Don’t ask me what happened here…I looked away for 1 minute :)Maybe we weren’t supposed to be canoeing after all…

And the Elliotts left Thursday morning for Charlottesville and the long drive back. We had a great time with them getting to catch up and hang out. We will surely miss them until their next visit!! :)

6 down, 3 to go

That’s right, I’m officially 6 months preggo today!  Wow, it’s hard to believe we’ll have a baby in the house in 3 months, kind of scary but super exciting!  According to the countdown on the right, I’m in the double digits of days left now too. 

We did right this month and took some pics of my belly, which seems to be growing bigger everyday.  It might have something to do with me always being hungry and wanting to snack :)  I try to be good, but sometimes those cookies are just too irresistible.

These pictures are from the Jamestown Beach which is right next to our house. So other than being hungry all the time, this baby is moving around like crAzy!  It’s really fun to feel him in there.  A couple of times he’s taken his elbow or foot or whatever and dragged it across my stomach around the belly button (which is non-existent now by the way) where I can see it dragging…really COOL!  Luke hasn’t seen that part yet, b/c it’s so random.  So far I’ve felt 3 different kinds of moves: 1) little jabs creating a “popcorn” effect; 2) gliding or swimming or whatever creating a “rollercoaster” effect; and 3) dragging whatever body part across my belly creating a “just cool” effect. 

Last night I was just watching him move while Luke read us Scuffy the Tugboat, which was his favorite book as a kiddo.  We’re going to try and have “family bonding” time more often.

Oh and another preggo thing I’ve been experiencing is major back pain and occasional charlie horses in the middle of the night.  Neither one is pleasant :) but baby’s worth it.  And my normal clothes are finally getting a little tight (or short) so I went shopping last week for new preggo clothes.  Luke said he wouldn’t mind the jeans I bought for Thanksgiving, ha!

All in all things are still going great!  I’m glad I’m getting big enough for other people to notice (I think!)
